Click on the images below to enlarge The series Hiirola - homage to Knut Nylander is a special edition
of finally 42 acrylic paintings on cardboard glued on plywood. The works are available only through AREFS taide ja kulttuuri ry as a honor to persons/organizations who transfer a minimum contribution from 150€ to the account of the non-profit organization to make it possible to continue with their art programs for rural schools and to start with a digital program with art lessons. It will be great to have these paintings on places where they are in good hands. More information on the website of AREFS by this link Series Hiirola - homage to Knut Nylander is based on the work by
the architect of the Finnish railway company during the end of the
19th century. The architect is the designer of the so-called Oulu
rautatieasema building and the design is used for over 40 railway
stations along different tracks around Finland.
source Finnish National Archive HelsinkiAt the end of 2012 I moved to the railway station in Hiirola and started to renovate the building into a working and living place. The construction is solid and the rooms are spacious and have a good proportion. For me a good base to work and to live.
